Territory management can be challenging. It\u2019s true. Even when you follow best practices, there are times when territories overlap, are double-assigned, or aren\u2019t mapped out properly or evenly distributed.<\/p>\n

To help correct some of these issues, we will demonstrate how to reassign or realign territories using a Dynamics CRM map integration<\/a>. For this demonstration, we\u2019ll be using Mappyfield, but you can browse Microsoft AppSource to find a suitable map integration based on your needs, requirements, and purposes.<\/p>\n

To provide a clearer understanding, let\u2019s consider an example:<\/p>\n

Nancy is the sales manager at a pharmaceutical company and manages two territories, each covering multiple states:<\/p>\n

1. South Region States:<\/b> Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma<\/p>\n

2. West Region States:<\/b> California, Washington, Nevada<\/p>\n

Paul and Sara are medical representatives on Nancy\u2019s sales team, responsible for supplying health immunity medicines and devices to pharmacies and hospitals in their assigned regions.<\/p>\n

Nancy assigns the South Region States<\/b> to Sara and the West Region States<\/b> to Paul. However, after some analysis, Nancy realizes that more inquiries are coming from Nevada, which is part of the West Region States<\/b>. This adds more work for Paul, so Nancy moves Nevada into the South Region States<\/b> in Sara\u2019s territory.<\/p>\n

This adjustment balances the territories more evenly and ensures fair distribution of both opportunities and workload.<\/p>\n

Now, let\u2019s see how Nancy can reassign or add more areas to an existing territory.

Step 1:<\/b> Navigate to MappyField 365<\/p>\n

After logging into Dynamics 365, click on ‘MappyField 365’ from the Dynamics 365 Apps dashboard.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/b> Navigate to the \u201cTerritory Management\u201d<\/p>\n

Click on ‘Territory Management’ in the MappyField 365 navigation panel.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/b> Search and Manage Territory<\/p>\n

Search and plot the existing territory on the map. Select the ‘By Territory’ option and choose the required territory from the list.<\/p>\n

By clicking on the Plot button, the selected territories will appear on the map.<\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/b> Reassign the Territory<\/p>\n

First, enable the selection option from the selection tool and then click on the geography (state). In this case, you want to move the state of \u2018Nevada\u2019 to the territory of the ‘South Region States.’<\/p>\n

By right-clicking on ‘Nevada,’ the two options ‘Copy To’ and ‘Move To’ will appear.<\/p>\n

By clicking on ‘Move to,’ a popup will appear with two options: ‘Move to existing territory’ or ‘Create new territory.’<\/p>\n

Select \u2018Move to existing territory\u2019 and then choose the territory from the dropdown list. By clicking the Save button, the state of Nevada will be moved to the territory of Colorado, reducing inquiries for Paul and balancing both territories.<\/p>\n

Similarly, you can also copy a territory from one region to another if you want 2-3 of your reps in a single state or geographic area.<\/p>\n

In this way, with the help of the Copy\/Move option in Mappyfield, you can balance the workload by reassigning or adding territories to improve the efficiency of your sales team.<\/p>\n
