The number one challenge for any company with an on-field sales team is the amount of money and time lost due to sales reps not knowing the shortest routes or traffic conditions. This issue can be resolved with a single feature: Shortest Path First (SPF).<\/p>\n

In this blog, we will demonstrate how you can enable this feature in your Dynamics CRM map integration and how your sales reps can use it effectively.<\/p>\n

For demonstration purposes, we\u2019ve used MappyField 365, but you can explore Microsoft AppSource to find a suitable Dynamics 365 map integration.<\/p>\n

Follow these steps to enable SPF and manage routes:<\/p>\n

1. Enable the Optimize Route option<\/p>\n

2. Plot the records and define the routes<\/p>\n

3. Set routes based on SPF<\/p>\n

4. Save and manage the routes<\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/b> Navigate to MappyField 365 After logging into Dynamics 365, click on “MappyField 365” from the Dynamics 365 Apps dashboard.<\/p>\n

\"plotting111\"<\/center>Step 2:<\/b> Enable SPF (Shortest path first) from the configuration Navigate to Settings \u2192 Solution \u2192 MappyField 365 \u2192 Setup and enable the “Optimize Route” option.<\/p>\n

\"plotting222\"<\/center>This will enable the “Shortest Path First” feature in MappyField 365, allowing you to find the most efficient route for your journey.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/b> Redirect to Map and define route on the map<\/p>\n

Define the ‘Routes’ by selecting the required records based on the Origin and Destination. Alternatively, you can define the Route by entering the place name under the ‘Routes’ tab.<\/p>\n

\"plotting333\"<\/center>Click the “Go” button after plotting the route to display the shortest path on the map.<\/p>\n

\"plotting444\"<\/center>Before \u2018Optimize Route\u2019 (SPF) option is enabled:<\/b><\/p>\n

\"plotting555\"<\/center>After \u2018Optimize Route\u2019 (SPF) option is enabled:<\/b><\/p>\n

\"plotting666\"<\/center>Step 4:<\/b> Save and assign the Route to the user\/team<\/p>\n

To save the selected route, go to the “Routes” menu and click the save icon.<\/p>\n

\"plotting777\"<\/center>This will open a popup with options to save the route. You will need to enter a name for the route, assign it to the user\/team, and specify a date and priority for the route. This way, you are not only sending the route details but also communicating the date and priority of the meeting\/task directly to the user.<\/p>\n

\"plotting888\"<\/center>After entering the details, click the ‘Save’ button to save the routes.<\/p>\n

To view the saved routes, navigate to “View Saved Routes.” Clicking on “View Saved Routes” will display the detailed slider on the right.<\/p>\n

\"plotting101010\"<\/center>From here, you can view the routes assigned to the user\/team and check the details of those routes. You can also delete any unwanted routes.<\/p>\n

Users can check their assigned routes on the default MappyField 365 dashboard under the ‘Reporting Dashboard,’ where the priority of each route is also displayed.<\/p>\n
