You just need to set up multiple languages and currencies on your current Magento site by following some easy steps. In this blog, we have provided a step-by-step guide to help you create a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/magento2-language-translator.htm\">multilingual store in Magento<\/a> by yourself:<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_1_Download_Language_Packages\"><\/span>Step 1: Download Language Packages<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The first step would be to download the relevant language package(s) you require to set up your website in. Visit Magento Connect store for available translations. From the array of packages available, choose the ones that are suitable for your needs. After selecting and downloading it, you will get a file in the .gzip format. Open it to access the folder app. Upload the folders of design and locale to add the unique files relating to the language you have downloaded. Now, you can move to create the new store view.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_2_Add_a_new_store_view\"><\/span>Step 2: Add a new store view<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>To <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/magento-language-translator.htm\">display your website in different languages<\/a><\/strong>, you will require adding a store view for each of the languages. If you had installed Magento without the sample data, only the English language would be preconfigured as your default language. In case of installation with sample data, it will have three store views namely French, German, and English. Follow the following steps to add a new store view:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Login to your admin panel<br \/>\n&#8211; Go to \u2018System\u2019, and further to \u2018Configuration\u2019, reach for \u2018Manage stores\u2019.<br \/>\n&#8211; Click on \u2018Create Store View\u2019 on the top left.<br \/>\n&#8211; Once you are redirected to the \u2018New Store View\u2019 page, enter the field name and code. For example, if you want to create a Swedish store, write Swedish.<br \/>\n&#8211; Save the store view. Now your store had been created.<\/p>\n<p>The creation of a store doesn\u2019t show up your website in the selected language. You need to configure the store by installing the language pack or by translating the default text strings manually.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_3_Install_and_Configure_the_Language_Packages\"><\/span>Step 3: Install and Configure the Language Package(s)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The language pack is equipped with the translation files of the of the default text that appears on the front-end of your website. Before these translations reflect on your site, you will need to change the locale settings. Let\u2019s see how to do this:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Go to \u2018System\u2019 and then \u2018Configuration\u2019.<br \/>\n&#8211; You will find the \u2018Current Configuration Scope\u2019 in the upper left corner. Select the store view for the language you want to configure.<br \/>\n&#8211; Go to the General section on the left. Expand the \u2018Locale Options\u2019<br \/>\n&#8211; Unmark the \u2018Use Website\u2019 check box that appears besides the options and set the drop down menu to the preferred language.<br \/>\n&#8211; Click on the \u2018Save Config\u2019 button on the top corner.<\/p>\n<p>To change the language of your back-end functions, go to the bottom of the admin panel, then to the \u2018Interface Locale\u2019 drop down menu, and choose the language.<\/p>\n<p>Magento has a default in-built tool that helps you translate default text strings. If you don\u2019t want to go for the language package and translate it yourself using this tool, follow the given instructions:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Go to \u2018System\u2019 &gt;&gt; \u2018Configuration\u2019<br \/>\n&#8211; Click on \u2018Developer\u2019 which you will find in the \u2018Advanced\u2019 menu.<br \/>\n&#8211; Click on \u2018Translate Inline\u2019.<br \/>\n&#8211; If you want to translate the text in the front end, save the \u2018Enabled for Frontend\u2019 option to \u2018Yes\u2019.<br \/>\n&#8211; If you want to translate the text in the back end, save the \u2018Enabled for Admin\u2019 option to \u2018Yes\u2019.<br \/>\n&#8211; \u2018Save configurations\u2019 and move towards editing the translations by using the tool.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_4_Change_the_product_descriptions_and_categories\"><\/span>Step 4: Change the product descriptions and categories<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>For each of the store views, you will need to change the descriptions and categories of the products.
