Based on the geographical area distribution, your on-field sales team schedules and manages the work.<\/p>\n<p>Ex. A pharma product distributor wants to collect the requirement of the medicines from the various pharma\/medical stores located all over a city. So, the manager needs to bifurcate the area based on the location of the stores among the medical reps.<\/p>\n<p>Doing this on paper or manually, keeping track of the work, etc. can be taxing. But there\u2019s a better way to do things if you have Dynamics 365. The first step would be to choose a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/dynamics365-mappyfield-365.htm\">Dynamics CRM map integration<\/a> that suits your requirements &#8212; this integration not only helps with territory management but also helps smoothen the entire sales operations. Choose wisely. You can check out some map integrations on MS AppSource.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have a map integration in your Dynamics 365, you can perform shape operations to create and assign territories.<\/p>\n<p>For demonstration purposes, we\u2019ve taken MappyField 365 in this blog.<\/p>\n<p>In the MappyField 365, being an administrator or manager, you can easily manage multiple areas by creating and managing the Territory using different search options, drawing tools, and performing different shape operations.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s see how you can do the same from Dynamics 365:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Navigate to Territory Management of the MappyField 365 map<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Select the Drawing Options<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Perform the Shape operation as per requirement<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Save the territory by creating a new one or in existing one<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_1_Navigate_to_MappyField_365\"><\/span>Step 1: Navigate to MappyField 365<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>After logging into Dynamics 365, click on \u201cMappyField 365\u201d from the Dynamics 365 apps dashboard.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/OpenMap-2.png\" alt=\"OpenMap\" \/><\/center>The map will load with the default location and other default configurations based on the user.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/location-and-other-default-configurations.png\" alt=\"location and other default configurations\" \/><\/center>By clicking on \u201cTerritory Management\u201d from MappyField 365 navigation pane on the left, you will navigate to the Territory Management from where you can create and manage the areas geographically.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/TerritoryManagement.png\" alt=\"TerritoryManagement\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_2_Select_%E2%80%98By_Drawing_Search_Options\"><\/span>Step 2: Select \u2018By Drawing\u2019 Search Options<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>From the \u2018Territory, Management\u2019, you can define and create the territory by drawing specific shapes to cover areas geographically.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Select the \u2018By Drawing\u2019 option in Search Options.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Drawing.png\" alt=\"Drawing\" \/><\/center>&#8211; As you select the \u2018By Drawing\u2019 option, the drawing tool will be enabled using which you can draw any shapes you want like Polygon, Circle, and Square.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Shapes.png\" alt=\"Shapes\" \/><\/center>&#8211; By selecting the Polygon shape, click on the map from where you want to start the geographical area and drag the mouse cursor over the areas you want to cover till the ending point to create a polygon shape.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/polygon-shape.png\" alt=\"polygon shape\" \/><\/center>&#8211; Similarly, you can cover the area using Circle &amp; Rectangle.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Here some areas of Texas state are covered using a polygon and a circle.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/polygon-circle.png\" alt=\"polygon circle\" \/><\/center>&#8211; You can move the shape and increase\/decrease the area of the territory by clicking on the \u2018edit\u2019 icon. You can also remove the drawn shape by selecting the erase icon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; You can change the \u2018fill color\u2019 and the \u2018outline color\u2019 of the shape as well.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/ShapeColor.png\" alt=\"ShapeColor\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_3_Select_Shape_areas_and_right-clicking_on_them\"><\/span>Step 3: Select Shape areas and right-clicking on them<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>First, select both the shapes by clicking on the selection option from the top-right corner.<\/p>\n<p>After selecting both the shapes, right-click on the selection and you will get the two options:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Create New Territory<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Shape operations<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Shape-operations.png\" alt=\"Shape operations\" \/><\/center>&#8211; By moving the cursor on the \u2018Shape operation\u2019, you will get the following operations to perform: Union, Intersection, Union Aggregate, and Disjunctive Union.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; You can perform any binary operations as per requirement and manage the territories based on that.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Binary-operations.png\" alt=\"Binary operations\" \/><\/center>&#8211; You can select the operation based on the way you want to manage that territory.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Using the \u2018Union\u2019 operation, you can combine both the areas and save the result of shape operation as a new territory.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Right-click on the combined shape and click on the \u2018Create New Territory\u2019 option.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/NewTerritory.png\" alt=\"NewTerritory\" \/><\/center>&#8211; By clicking on the \u2018Create New Territory\u2019 option, you will get a popup to save the territory details with its name and assign the responsible person (i.e. Sales Manager).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center !important;\">OR<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; You can also add to the existing territory where you will find the list of existing territories.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/existing-territory.png\" alt=\"existing territory\" \/><\/center>&#8211; By clicking on the Save button, the territory will be created or added in the existing as per the selection.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.appjetty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Save-button.png\" alt=\"Save button\" \/><\/center>You will find the created territories on the Map when you want to plot the data of any entity using the Territory.
